News acts almost like a Blog... actually, it practically is a blog. The main News page offers a "Quick Spot" to view snippets of your latest news articles (you set how many you want to display here). The 'news details' page is a full story view which is created the same way you create a basic content page. However there are Quick Links that allow you to easily jump from one news article to the next from the detail view. News archiving is available as well.
The Event Calendar is a easy to use module included in the core CMS. It is a great way to inform your site visitors of special events, future content or product releases, or what ever you can think of. Some of the features of the Event Calendar are:
The CSS is fully editable from the SIMPLE Administration Panel. If you are familiar with CSS, the sky is the limit here. You can add, edit and delete anything here... DID YOU SAY DELETE?
Yes! don't worry there is a backup of your last saved working CSS style sheet one click away!
SIMPLE CMS allows you to control practically every aspect of your site. Control display limits, change header text like "Latest News", pretty much anything we have pre built is editable here.
Within the SIMPLE Administration Panel you can upload and manage images and documentation. Move, delete, rename, or just view. Simply rolling over the name of the image will produce a thumbnail view of the image to help easily and quickly identify the image. You can even create new image directories if needed.
SIMPLE CMS incorporates a very flexible Module system that allows you to place as many modules any where you like per page. Add an email subscription form to the left, center or right column, your choice! If you do think of something we don't have to offer and Blue Oryx Internet Solutions, LLC decides it will benefit the whole community of SIMPLE CMS users, we will build it and add it FREE of charge to you.
Blog - News and articles blogging system
Event Calendar - A calendar to post upcoming events on
Contact Form - a robust, customizable contact form with CAPTCHA
Email Subscriber - a quick for to capture users email addresses for newsletters
... and many more in the works, such as comments, tell a friend, etc.
A variety of reports are available to you through the SIMPLE Administration Panel. Reports generated for certain modules, i.e., Email Subscribers, can be viewed, edited and in some cases can even output appropriate files such as comma delimited lists for easy incorporation into third-party software. Basic site statistics are also reported.
SIMPLE CMS allows you to use third party site analysis tools as well. You can set up an account with a third party web analysis such as Google Analytics or Google Sitemap Tools and easily add all code and appropriate files to the server via the SIMPLE Administration Panel. Google's tools are free so why not give it a whirl. They are more in depth than Awstats.
Semantic Markup helps keep the pages small and code clean. Search engines and users love this. Faster page loads and spider crawls play a major role in technical and user interaction. Also by using this markup language the code base will not degrade or become obsolete any time in the near future. Stability and continuity across different Operating Systems and Web Browsers is a key element to a successful internet presence. No matter how small a percentage of your users are, for example, MAC OS using Safari (1-2%), you still don't want to lose them as a customer. We understand this, and our SIMPLE CMS is tested on all current and previous operating systems and browsers from Windows XP home with Internet explorer 5.5 to MAC OSX with Firefox 2 or Windows Vista with Internet Explorer 7 to Mac OSX with Safari.
The SIMPLE Administration Panel for our clients is built with the same standards as the user interface: SIMPLE, clean, fast, and did we mention SIMPLE. Manage every aspect of your site from an easy to use control panel that is well documented and user friendly without fear of being lost in the many technical layers required when building a site from scratch. Just fill in the forms and press "submit"!

This feature is crucial to many aspects of your web site. Organic Search is Free, so why not take advantage of that. Sure, Pay-Per-Click programs will get your site seen, but why spend thousands of dollars on advertising if you don't need too? Our SIMPLE CMS is guaranteed to be 100% indexed in Search Engines. Alt, Title, Meta tags, Mod Rewrite URLs, Semantic (CSS) markup language, and much more help you get closer to being in the top 10 for your keywords.
This Mod Rewrite feature is critical to being fully indexed in search engines and, believe it or not, many content management systems out there still use Query String URLs. Let us clarify: A Query String looks like:
Mod Rewrite translates that into a search engine friendly URL like:
Search engines, by default, associate movie-title/ to movie-title/index.html. Basically, even though there really isn't a folder called "movies" with a sub folder "movie-title" with a file in that is named "index.html", the spider is none the wiser, and indexes your dynamically generated page as if it were. Unbelievable!!!
